Wash your face only 2 times per day

Over washing your skin can actually cause your skin to produce more oil. Although you may think you are helping fight acne, you may be creating more.

Eat your veggies

Just like Mom always said… eating 3-5 serving of vegetables per day can reduce inflammation and create an alkaline environment.

Increase your zinc

A known deficiency linked to acne. Add a serving of nuts into your diet.

Drink water

Aim for 8 glasses of water per day (64 oz.) Water helps to eliminate toxins from your body.

Get professional treatments

There are many successful acne treatments available. Try acne facials or chemical peels every 2-4 weeks. Microdermabrasion can help improve scars.

Choose the right facial products

Look for ingredients like Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Retinol or Vitamin A, &Benzyl Peroxide.  Avoid product lines that have artificial color, fragrances, parabens, and mineral oils.  Be sure to exfoliate your skin 2-3 days per week.

Take supplements

Omega fatty acids and flax seed are great for improving acne.

Do not pick

Picking at blemishes or blackheads can spread bacteria and create scarring and infections. Leave it to the professionals!

Choose the right hair products

Avoid hair gels, sprays and waxes. Choose a gentle shampoo for normal to oily hair. Pull hair back off of face and back at night.
